Sanjay Shah Creates Autism Rocks Festival to Bring Awareness to Autism

For Sanjay Shah, autism awareness is more than a social issue. Shah’s son, Nikhil, has is autistic and Shah along with his wife have experienced first hand the lack of resources and understanding available for autistic children even though there was a large awareness for children with other special needs. The Dubai couple wanted to make a difference in the lives of children with autism as well as make a difference in their son’s life. Hosting an autism awareness festival was the seemingly perfect solution.

April is Autism Awareness Month around the world and Sanjay Shah Denmark decided to host the festival during April to bring the greatest impact and greatest awareness to the cause. The festival, called Autism Rocks, took place on April 2nd, 2016 and included a variety of festivities and events. One such event included a concert with international superstar rappers Tyga and Flo Rida from the United States. Other events included additional live music performers, laser tag, zip lines, horse rides, crazy golf, bouncy castles, bull riding rodeo style, a petting zoo and face painting. Food was also available for purchase with a delicious barbecue stye event.

The festival itself was founded in 2014 by Sanjay and Usha Shah. The two are continuing with the annual festival and have managed to win over many great performers in the past including Drake, Prince and Lenny Kravitz. Sanjay and Usha say that they will continue to host the annual festival as long as they can because of its potential impact on their son and other autistic children and adults around the world. The exact number of people living with autism in the United Arab Emirates is unknown however in the United States the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has determined that 1 in 68 children will fall on the autism spectrum and more than 3.5 million Americans live with an autism spectrum disorder according to the Autism Society.

The cost to attend Autism Rocks was Dh50 per individual. All proceeds were slated to be donated for autism research. Sanjay Shah and his wife, Usha, hoped that the festival would help to bring awareness to the condition and also to help society understand how to deal with autistic people. The couple felt that many people were uneasy around their young son and didn’t know what to expert or how to interact with him. They also had negative stereotypes and Sanjay and Usha were determined to make a difference in the way people perceive autistic individuals.

JustFab Shows How The Partnership Between Don and Adam Resulted To Success

Adam Goldenberg and Don Ressler are not the kind of people you expect to hang out with. However, after they founded JustFab, they are here to style you up and ensure you wear the latest fashion. They are the kind of people who know how to spot trends, grow new businesses, and develop industry-leading brands. The advantage of the two is that they do it with fun and passion that goes well with the industry.

The first company founded by Adam Goldenberg was Gamers Alliance at the age of 15. Adam sold the company three years later to Intermix Media in 1999, and he had to quit high school to join Intermix as the vice president of Strategic Planning. By the age of 20, he was already promoted to the role of chief operating officer and was famous for being the youngest to hold such a position in a publicly traded company. Intermix Media later acquired FitnessHeaven.com, a company that was owned by Don Ressler.

Don Ressler and Adam Goldenberg then became friends and established various brands in the beauty and health industry. Their biggest idea was when they started conceptualizing a new personalized shopping experience. They were aware that for fashion to work on an online platform, it needed to be fun enjoying and socially interactive. In 2006, Adam Goldenberg and Don Ressler established the e-commerce brand called Intelligent Beauty which owns JustFab. JustFab is a style community where the ‘VIP Members’ are given the privilege to receive a selection of handbags, shoes, and accessories that are tailored to their taste for $39.95.

Today, JustFab records over 95% of its sales from the 3.5 million VIP members on vbprofiles.com. Members are also allowed to take a break from shopping, or they can opt out of paying the monthly fee if they do their shopping within the first five days of the month. Adam is aware how expensive it is to acquire customers mainly because the company spent a third of its subscriptions trying to re-acquire the customers they had but opted out. The justification of the subscription is the discounted rates the customers gain from the store and JustFab obtain high degree of customer loyalty and engagement.

During an interview with Bambi Francisco, the founder, and CEO of Vator, Adam said that JustFab would not change its business model to fit what other companies are doing. His remarks were referring to the question he was asked by Bambi whether JustFab was considering a flash sale. Keith Mann: Doing the Right Thing for NY Education

Keith Mann isn’t an average, run of the mill executive. As the CEO and founder of his firm Dynamics Search Partners, he was the primary leader of a vital program that helps kids in NY through fundraising. Its name is Uncommon Schools, an event which helps to sponsor different supplies that NY school kids need like writing utensils for tests and other resources in high school.

Thanks to the contributions and efforts of Keith Mann and company, Uncommon Schools has achieved the ability to open a brand new high school in none other than Brooklyn, New York: one of the most expensive places on the planet to own real estate. Among school supplies funding, there are also funds set aside for important tests like AP and PSAT, which are necessary if high school students want to get into certain higher education facilities like universities. This aid is especially helpful for underprivileged youths. As a gesture of good faith, DSP even fronted $10,000 alone before the event officially started.

DSP and Uncommon School have relations dating back to early 2013. And they have strengthened their bond since then. DSP is committed to allowing students to access the kind of real world skills and tools they need to build a foundation for success. Keith Mann has expressed his dedication to making this happen.

Keith Mann boasts over a decade and a half of experience with executive recruiting. As someone who has solutions that he has implemented for clients like hedge fund management companies, he knows a lot about staffing, compensation, and hiring. He began at Dynamic Associates as the manager of the alternative investment division. Then, he was promoted successfully to the position of Vice President. After that, he held the role of managing director at Dynamics Executive Search where he assisted global firms with their executive search needs.

In 2002, he realized that the hedge fund industry needed better services. This prompted him to form his own service called an alternative investment practice. He successfully built the company out into the niche in 2006 and then in 2009 founded DSP.

DSP specializes in helping alternative investment companies only. Keith Mann handles the daily needs of the organization as the head officer. He is responsible for hiring, internal strategy, and more. DSP operates in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

Securus Technologies: Changing Incarceration Experience

As the leading provider of civil and criminal justice solutions for public safety corrections, investigation and monitoring, Securus Technologies has declared that it will implement its Inmate Forms and Grievance application on ConnectUs and offer clients a better way to save time and money. Russell Roberts, Vice President of Marketing and Strategy for Securus emphasized that the company is committed to providing its clients with new technology and features. He stated that the Inmate Forms and Grievances application on ConnectUs is the way forward for customers looking for advanced and effective technologies.
Many correctional facilities use paper forms for inmates requests that include grievances, handbook acceptance forms, medical, sign up forms and others. Through the ConnectUs application, correctional officers will not spend valuable time distributing, routing, logging, responding, collecting, filling, storing and archiving forms. They will modestly create custom forms depending on the request and inmates will access them at ease. There is no printing involved and changes can be made easily.
Through ConnectUs application, common manual paperwork has been transformed to digital computerization. The ConnectUs application has made it easy to automate and process about 13.8 forms per month and per inmate making it easy for corrections officers to concentrate on safety and security of inmates. Self-services access to forms is the other benefit that inmates can enjoy from the advanced technology. Hence they can accept or appeal once they view the form status. Chief Kolitwenzew from Kankakee County III, accentuated that the ConnectUs application is easy use and access and will save more money spend on paperwork. This application indeed brings modernism that has been lacking in correctional facilities.
The ConnectUs Inmates Forms and Grievances application is the most advanced and feature friendly platform available and allows inmates to access diverse applications chosen by each correctional facility. Besides accessing new services in correctional facilities, this application dictates what inmates can access and at what time. This application also offers corrections staff opportunity to communicate efficiently with inmates and know their location through a computerized inmate bulletin board.
About Securus Technologies

Recap: 10 Hair Tips

YouTube beauty blogger Wengie describes 10 hair “hacks” for her viewers. Her first tip is eating a diet rich in omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin C, and vitamin A, and other nutrients that are good for your hair and scalp, or taking a vitamin that contains these. Wengie’s next tip is to clean your brush often to avoid putting old oils into clean hair. She suggest doing this by using a comb to pull the strands out of the brush, then washing the brush with shampoo.

Next she suggests making your hair look longer and fuller from the back by splitting hair into two ponytails, one on top and one at the nape of your neck. Wengie’s next tip is to apply a hair mask before shampooing to condition it without weighing it down. Wengie suggests using melted coconut oil as a hair mask. Her next hack is to pat hair dry with a t-shirt after a shower. This is better than using a towel, which can cause breakage and frizz. Next she tells viewers to use hairspray on a toothbrush to tame baby hairs when it is tied up. She also suggests spraying it on a makeup brush to tame scalp flyaways and on bobby pins to make them stay in place better.

Wengie’s next tip is to trim split ends at home; she says to twist hair until split ends stick out, then trim them with sharp hairdressing scissors. Her next hack is to get quick waves by putting hair into a ponytail, then curling it into 3 to 8 sections. Next she suggests using dry shampoo, baby powder, or cornstarch before bed for days when you don’t wash your hair. Her final tip is to cut old nylons into DIY gentle hair ties to keep from breaking strands when you sleep.

Laidlaw Goes Too Far

An investment brokerage firm called Laidlaw is trying to take over Relmada Therapeutics, a company that develops treatments for serious pain, and they’re spreading false information to do so. Relmada is fighting back, and the U.S. District Court of Nevada has issued a ruling in their favor. The federal court has issued a restraining order against Laidlaw in general and its principals, Matthew Eitner and James Ahern, in particular; it seems that Laidlaw has finally gone too far.

Laidlaw served as an investment banker to Relmada in the past and apparently liked what they saw. Relmada has been close recently to putting a new product on the market called BuTab, and the market forecast for this pain medication is extremely good. Laidlaw went after the company in an effort to make it their own, but so far they have succeeded only in temporarily distracting Relmada from their work.

About Laidlaw and Company

Laidlaw & Company is an investment bank headquartered in New York City. While they look good on paper, the firm has a reputation for violating finance laws and regulations.

In My Opinion

Personally, I do not like what Laidlaw, led by Matthew Eitner and James Ahern, are up to. When they signed on to help Relmada, they should not have been using the information they gained through working with their client to attempt to acquire it. It seems to me that their actions are certainly unethical and possibly illegal. Hopefully, Relmada will continue to be able to fight them off in the courts and will be able to bring their important pain medications to market unobstructed.

The Benefits and Overview of Securus Technology

They help to connect with smiles, for proud fathers to connect, celebrate birthday’s, performances, to tell bedtime stories, share moments with daughters and sons and more events that without the technology provided by securus would not be possible, thus allowing the loved one to never miss out on the major events, even though they can’t be there in person, they can feel like they are.

There are a couple types of options when it comes to the Securus video services, these include being able to pre-schedule a visit onsite, or to schedule a visit with the at-home visitation option. The first option is scheduling an at home visit, which allows individual to visit their loved one who is incarcerated from the comfort of home, this even helping to make the family member feel like they are at home with them. A Closer Look At JustFab’s Success

The LA Times recently took a look at JustFab, as it seemingly prepares to transition towards becoming a publicly traded company. As a subscription-based service, JustFab provides its members with a box full of products that cover a wide range of categories, and at significantly cheaper prices than would otherwise be available at a standard retailer.  Learn more about Just Fab: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JustFab

Analysts currently predict that the company’s business model will earn them roughly $650 million this year, up from $505 million last year. With these kinds of numbers, it’s easy to see how their last fundraising round had JustFab valued at $1 billion.

While writing on Just Fab, the LA Times did note that the subscription-based fashion retailer recently hired Todd Tapin to act as their chief financial officer. Tapin is no stranger to IPO transitions, which has all but cemented the company’s plans for the future to go public. For his part, JustFab’s co-founder Adam Goldenberg also confirmed that going public was a part of the company’s overall plan, but declined to specify details beyond that point.

It’s interesting to note JustFab’s future plans, given how few subscription-based services are able to reach that level of success in their life cycle. It speaks to JustFab’s quality of service and commitment to its customers that they have been able to build their brand up to the point that it can feasibly expand where few others have made it.

Goldenberg has noted that one of the secrets to Just Fab’s success is in doing what other companies didn’t. While others tried to capitalize on the model too early, Goldenberg instead focused on steering JustFab towards sustainability and versatility.

By acquiring a number of other fashion brands, JustFab services a wider audience while still preserving the savings from its subscription-based business model.

In fact, its cost-saving practices have allowed the company to expand its physical design space, in addition to expanding its control over the market. Designers at JustFab have an entire studio that allows them to quickly react to new trends in fashion and ensure that they’re providing customers with up-to-date clothes. Goldenberg‘s strategy is to provide customers with real value and build their loyalty through programs they care about.
